Camping on the Illinois State Fairgrounds

Welcome to the Illinois State Fairgrounds.  Our 366-acre campus is home to hundreds of events year-round.  Our campground is open to the public from April - October 31st.

The Illinois State Fair Campground is currently full August 8th through Tuesday August 18th. 

Camping from August 19th -August 24th will be offered at a first come, first serve basis. 

Visitors must visit the campground office upon arrival. 

Illinois State Fair camping notifications will be sent out via email at the end of May.

To inquire about campground vacancies and availability, please contact our Non-Fair events office.  You can find helpful information about rates and facilities by visiting our non-fair rates and information anytime except August.

About the Campground:  We offer campsites  that can accommodate motor homes, RV's, fifth-wheels and tents.  Sites come with electric, water and limited spaces offer sewer hook-ups. Shower facilities and permanent restrooms are available.

Security monitors the Illinois State Fairgrounds 24-hours a day and a campground host is centrally located in the campground to assist with assigning spots, parking and general information on the fairgrounds and surrounding Springfield area. 

State Fair Camping Fees (August 1 - August 31) are $25 per night for tent camping (sites do not include electricity or water) and $50 per night for all other types of camping.

Vendors/Concessionaires intending to camp at the Illinois State Fair must submit a camping application for the campground; camping is prohibited in supply lots.
