Just inside the Main Gate you will find the iconic Giant Slide. Emblazoned with the historic Route 66 logo, this fair-favorite ride is one of the most recognizable features of the Illinois State Fairgrounds, loved by kids and adults alike.
- Must be 6 years old and 3 feet tall to slide by yourself
- Must be 2 years old to slide with an adult
- Tickets are $4/person per slide
- Giant Slide included in Jumbo Pass
- NOTE: Parents riding with a child that has a Jumbo Pass must purchase their own ticket.
The Sky Glide runs from the south end of the Grandstand to the corner of Gate #2. It offers an excellent aerial view of the fairgrounds.
The Sky Glide operates from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily during the fair.
An extra ticket is required for this attraction and can be purchased only at the Sky Glide.
Carnival Information
Carnival hours vary by day, please see operational hours below. Mega and Jumbo Passes are valid everyday during operating hours and can be purchased at the Emmerson Building.
Daily wristbands and individual tickets (re-loadable card) can ONLY be purchased in the Carnival areas via their purchase kiosks. These items are not available in the Emmerson Building.
