The Illinois State Fairgrounds Campground operates April 1st through October 31st. Reservations are not required nor accepted. Click for additional information regarding our campground.

Welcome to the Illinois State Fairgrounds. We are pleased that you are considering the fairgrounds and Springfield as a future site for your event. Known as Illinois’ premier public facility, the Illinois State Fairgrounds is recognized nationally as a leading multi-use venue.
The Illinois State Fairgrounds encompasses over 360 acres of land that is fully fenced for added security. The landscaping and scenery throughout the grounds provides one with a sense of hospitality and homeyness.
The fairground’s facilities are ideally suited to accommodate many needs such as Conferences and Conventions, Weddings, Theatre and Dance, Concerts, Trade Shows, Dog & Cat Shows, Livestock Shows, Motorcycle Races, Monster Truck Shows, BMX Races, Freestyle Motorcross, Car Races, and Rodeos. In addition, the Illinois State Fairgrounds has presented top entertainers.
The many amenities offered here on the Illinois State Fairgrounds will be of great assistance to you in hosting your event, large or small. The fairgrounds has more than 150 buildings, is the home of the world’s fastest dirt track, a grandstand, four indoor arenas, a covered outdoor arena, and over 1,000 stalls for livestock or horses. The new 9.3 million dollar Multi-Purpose Arena hosted the 2000-2001 National High School Finals, otherwise known as “The World’s Largest Rodeo.”
